Psalm 127:1 Except the LORD build the house, they labor in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman wakes but in vain.
This lesson provides an overview of the preceding lessons and ends with some thoughts from Psalm 127. It is clear from this Psalm that unless the Lord is a part of the building and guarding of the home, there will be failure and emptiness in the product. There is great futility in any labor without God, as He is the Author of anything worthwhile. Children were intended to be a blessing not just to legacy leavers but more importantly to their Creator.
A quiver of arrows in the hand of a warrior is a tremendous offensive weapon. So too are the children of a righteous home: they extend an attack against Satan, who wants to destroy lives. Followers who are equipped as offensive weapons against falsehood are able to contend with the enemy at the gate, which will one day be their own home. By far the most vital element of a Godly legacy is complete trust in the One Who promises to bless our lives, homes, and followers if we will simply follow Him.
